Fundraisers for 2011 were discussed. There is a projected cost of $60,000 needed to complete the planned 2012 work project. With the leading of the Lord, hard work on our part to carry out the fundraisers, and every ones prayers and support, it will be accomplished. All things are done in the name of the LORD and we give him all the praise and glory for what He does through the Christian Missionary Fellowship.
The CMF presentation picture board is near completion. Presentation scheduling has started. Talk to your home church about scheduling a time for the CMF to share its work and future plans.
Carol Thatcher chairperson for the nominating committee presented a slate of prospective officers to the members: (2) three year Board Members - Dennis Forsythe and Terry Parker, (1) 2 year Board Member - Bill Christman, and for Vice President – John Hendrix. It was opened up to the members to make further nominations if anyone liked. None were made. A vote will be taken at the March meeting to fill these positions.
A letter will be mailed with the monthly minutes to churches in Adams, Brown, and Clermont County, and surrounding areas to inform them of the CMF’s work being done and future plans. There will be phone and/or personal contact made with many churches to schedule dates for the presentation.
Become a regular supporter of the Christian Missionary Fellowship: give weekly, monthly, quarterly, or a one time love offering. The projected financial need for the 2012 building project is $60,000. There is always a need for workers to join the mission trip. It takes many hands to complete the work the LORD leads us to do. No matter your work skills, there is a place for you to help. Join the work and you will have a life changing experience in the LORD.
NEW BUSINESS
A lap top computer needs to be purchased for the organization to keep its financial records on and to use for the slide show during presentations. It has been a problem in the past to get our slide show to match the equipment each church has. This will eliminate this problem and make it easier for all. A motion was made by Lisa StClair to purchase a lap top computer for financial records and to be used for the presentations. Dennis Forsythe seconded the motion. OLD AND UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Ed Lykins discussed the formal dedication services held at the Bigot Christian Church in Gonaives. This is the church building in Gonaives there Sainsurin preaches and the CMF work team had helped complete when they were there this fall. Reggie Thomas has also shared with Ed that there were 1,100 people in attendance and 26 were baptized that Sunday morning. Reggie preached the next Sunday morning and 4 more were baptized. Everyone involved with this church is very touched by the growth of the church members since the CMF building projects started a few years ago. Helping to enlarge the building has given them the needed classrooms and sanctuary space to grow.
There was discussion about the work project for 2012. Plans are still being made for a group of 9 to return to Gonaives June 17th to 27th to assist in site preparation and to make a list of needed materials for the building project in January and February of 2012. Most of these materials will need to be purchased locally in Gonaives and be waiting for the work team in January. This will also give the CMF workers a better idea of what needs to be packed and taken with them when they travel to Haiti in January.
Nancy Mays and Tracy Waite will be hosting a few days of VBS for the youth at the Bigot Church while the men are working on the future building sites. Nancy has a friend who will be translating materials into the written language needed for the Haitians to understand. Craft ideas were discussed. They need to be cheap, light in weight, small in size, and with a boat and water theme. There will be a large group of children to share the VBS lesson and craft with each day. Balloons, foam items, sheets of glue dots were discussed. All ideas are valuable, please share any you have. Keep this project in your prayers as they prepare.

Carol Thatcher is chairing the nominating committee for the 2011 election. The positions to be filled are: (3) three Board Members and Vice President. Dan Hildebrecht, a present Board Member, has resigned and this has created one (2) two years Board Member position. The regular term is for three years. A slate of persons willing to accept these positions will be presented to the members at the February meeting.
A letter to those who have gone on past work trips is being made ready to mail. We want to invite each one to join the team again for the 2012 work project. It will take many hands to complete the planned project.
A letter is also being made ready to mail to churches in Adams, Brown, and Clermont County, and surrounding areas to inform them who the CMF is and that we want to share the work being done and future plans with them.
